Job Description:

Position Overview: As a Technical/Materials Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the technical aspects of steel fabrication and construction projects. Your expertise in materials engineering, coupled with a solid background in steel fabrication and construction practices, will be instrumental in ensuring the quality, safety, and efficiency of our projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Materials Selection and Specification: Collaborate with project teams to determine the most suitable materials for specific project requirements, considering factors such as structural integrity, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
  2. Quality Assurance and Control: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures throughout the fabrication and construction processes to ensure adherence to industry standards and project specifications.
  3. Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders on matters related to materials engineering, fabrication techniques, and construction methodologies.
  4. Vendor Management: Liaise with material suppliers and subcontractors to procure high-quality materials and services, negotiate contracts, and monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with project requirements and timelines.
  5. Structural Analysis: Conduct structural analyses and feasibility studies to assess the integrity and performance of steel structures, identify potential design improvements, and mitigate risks associated with fabrication and construction.
  6. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive technical reports, material specifications, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices in steel fabrication and construction to drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance project outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in steel fabrication and construction, with a strong emphasis on materials engineering.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing technical aspects of construction projects in the UAE.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
