Job Description:

Overview: Sponge Iron Industry is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems within our facility. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting our production operations and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks on electrical equipment, including motors, transformers, and control systems. Troubleshoot and repair electrical malfunctions to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.

  2. Installation Assistance: Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical systems and equipment. Follow blueprints, diagrams, and manufacturer instructions to ensure accurate and efficient installation.

  3. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working with electrical systems. Identify and report potential safety hazards, and take proactive measures to mitigate risks.

  4. Testing and Inspection: Conduct regular testing and inspections of electrical components to identify issues and prevent failures. Use testing equipment and instruments to assess the condition and performance of electrical systems.

  5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Keep inventory of electrical parts and supplies, and requisition replacements as needed.

  6. Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments, including engineering and production, to address electrical-related issues and support ongoing projects. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely resolution of problems.

  7. Training and Development: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in electrical technology. Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge, and share expertise with colleagues as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or diploma in electrical engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an electrical technician in an industrial setting, with knowledge of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in reading technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work in shifts and respond to emergency situations as required.
