Position:          Asst. Manager - Safety & Environment

Location:         Dahej

Responsibilities:

• To review all activities of the Organization and to identify the environmental aspects.
• To review and finalize all such environmental aspects with the concern Functional Head and to do rating for such aspects.
• To communicate all such environmental aspects and its impacts to all concerned after getting approval from the Env Head/ Unit Head.
• To identify the list of significant and highly significant aspects and to identify method of controlling the same.
• To identify the Environment Management Plan for the highly significant aspects to reduce its impact and to handover such EMPs to the concerned Functional Head for further implementation.
• To prepare and review Environmental Objectives and Targets based on the Environmental Policy and to inform all employees for the same.
• To prepare register of rules and regulation and to keep track on all such applicable legal rules and regulation.
• To ensure compliance with all legal requirements and to evaluate all such requirements on regular basis.
• To Liasioning with Government body for all the matters related to legal acts and rules.
• To follow documented Integrated Management System (QMS and EMS) and ensure that it is followed by all employees throughout the Organization
• To ensure that Quality and Environmental Policy is understood and implemented at all level within the Organization.
• Responsible to stop any process, product, if creates pollution to the environments.
• Responsible to ensure that all safety precautions are taken during all stages of production.
• To follow all the requirements of Operational Control Plan related to environmental issues and to maintain records of compliance against the requirements of the state Pollution Control Board.
• To maintain records of communication made within the Organization and outside the Organization related to Environment.
• To ensure smooth operation of effluent treatment plant and effective treatment of the effluent at all stages of treatment plant.
• To ensure documented standard operating procedure is followed for the operation of effluent treatment plant.
• To ensure that final treated effluent is confirming to the norms given by the pollution control board & it does not creating any land / water pollution during its discharge within the organization as well as outside the organization.
• To ensure periodic testing of treated effluent through out side approved laboratories.
• To support in periodic preventive maintenance of equipment used in the treatment plant.
• To maintain operation and testing records of the effluent treatment plant.
• To store the waste properly at the identified area (Hazardous waste storage area) & ensure that the hazardous waste storage facility is identified properly as per the requirements of the state pollution control board.
• To update online data monitoring board displayed at out–side the factory on daily basis.
• To ensure safe loading of Haz. waste on the vehicle once it is received for further disposal of same to the disposal site.
• To prepare and maintain records of generation and disposal of the waste.
• To ensure that employees working in the treatment plant as well as handling storage and disposal of hazardous waste are using appropriate PPES

Required Qualification:-  B.Sc/M.Sc- Environment+PDIS

Salary :- Upto 12.00 LPA
