Sr. Accountant

Job Description:

Our multifamily residential construction business is looking for a professional Senior Accountant for our new developments. We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. The successful applicant will have a basic knowledge of how real estate companies operate and will have prior experience with common tax issues in the industry.

Responsibilities:

1. Verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling accounts payable and receivable
2. Producing error-free accounting reports and present their results
3. Analyzing financial information and summarizing financial status
4. Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department
5. Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
6. Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the CFO’s attention
7. Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary
8. Reconcile balance sheet accounts
9. Delegate financial responsibilities to accounting team
10. Coordinate semi-annual audits and assist CFO with conducting audits
11. Conduct regular ledger maintenance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required (Master’s preferred)
• 4-6 years experience in general or tax accounting
• Experience with computerized ledger systems
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment
• Familiarity with Tally software
• Prior experience with Real Estate
