Job Description:

As a Project Manager for a construction business specializing in highways and bridges, you will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of various construction projects. You'll be responsible for managing project teams, coordinating with subcontractors, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets, and maintaining quality standards throughout the construction process. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of construction methodologies, safety regulations, and project management principles.

Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Scheduling:

   • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
   • Create detailed schedules and milestones to ensure timely completion of projects.
   • Coordinate with stakeholders to define project requirements and expectations.

2. Team Management:

   • Lead and supervise project teams, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
   • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring alignment with project goals.
   • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment to maximize team performance.

3. Budget Management:

   • Prepare project budgets and cost estimates, ensuring accuracy and feasibility.
   • Monitor project expenditures and track financial performance against budgetary constraints.
   • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to optimize project finances.

4. Quality Control and Assurance:

   • Implement quality control measures to uphold construction standards and specifications.
   • Conduct regular inspections and quality audits to identify and address any deviations or deficiencies.
   • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards.

5. Risk Management:

   • Identify potential risks and obstacles that may impact project delivery.
   • Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
   • Monitor and manage project risks throughout the construction lifecycle.

6. Client Communication and Relationship Management:

   • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests.
   • Provide regular project updates and reports to stakeholders, maintaining transparency and accountability.
   • Cultivate strong client relationships to enhance customer satisfaction and promote repeat business opportunities.

7. Contract Negotiation and Administration:

   • Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
   • Review and finalize contractual agreements, clarifying roles, responsibilities, and deliverables.
   • Monitor contract compliance and resolve any disputes or discrepancies as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry, with a focus on highways and bridges projects.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and techniques.
• Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and inspire multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project).
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) is desirable.
