Job Description:

Candidate should be BOE Certified with minimum 5-8 Years of Experience in Power Plant & Utilities specially HP Boilers along with other desired skills like CMMS ( Computerized Maintenance Management System) i.e. PM Module in SAP.

Role Purpose Statement (Write a brief statement regarding the objective of the position and why it exists):
? As Per IBR requirements for Operation of Boilers BOE (Boiler Operation Engineer – Certification course by IBR
Directorate), is needed for Operation of Boiler(s)
? Any deviation in the boiler needs to be noted and informed to Organization superiors for rectification.
? In case of Delays in attending the Major issues, which can lead to incident, needs to act as a bridge for
communication (within the legal sanctions) between organization and IBR authorities.
? Any major issue which may lead to major equipment failure needs to inform IBR authorities for proper
resolution within Legal regulation, as per sanctions act upon and get the final clearing done by IBR Authority
assigned for the Area.
Main Accountabilities (List 6-8 major areas of responsibilities in order of importance, and purpose of these activities:
? Breakdown free plant operation.
? Plan day to day general maintenance of breakdown of equipment.
? Plan the manpower distribution in different section as per priority.
? Plan the contract manpower job location & get the daily report from Mechanical team.
? Maintaining the preventive maintenance schedule as per reliability management programmer.
? Measurement of contractor’s job work and clearing contractor bills.
? Trouble shooting of problems.
? Keeping minimum spares of all the equipment in plant.
? Daily reporting to the Utility Manager.
? Energy conservation.
? Safety during the jobs allotted.
? To verify all the installations and Legal Drawings as per IBR guidelines
? To maintain all the parameters and signing off all log entries, note to be made for deviation.
? Prepare Action plan to address the deviation and adhere to get the correction done.
? To access the operating conditions and make plans for continuous operations with reduced down times.
? Escalate the problem to Superior in case of Down time required based on urgencies and Legal Sanctions.
? Operation, maintenance & reliability of Power Plant, Boilers , DM Plant, TFHs & Utilities on 360 Degree
pattern. Ensuring sufficient inventory of routine spares as well as major parts planning for Annual shutdown
maintenance.
? Take up additional role of Reliability Manager to lead Asset Care for this training will be provided. MEL,PM
Plans , Task Lists ,asset walk downs , weekly & monthly asset care reports preparation & circulation.
? To lead BGSMS element 4 JHA for which training will be provided.
? To ensure Safety & compliance of Power Plant , Boilers , DM Plant, TFHs & Utilities on 360 Degree pattern.
? Ensure effective monitoring & controls of Fuel & Ash handling.

annual sales/revenue):
? Bridge Network Manager between Plant operation and Legal Bodies
? Needs to manage Assisting BOE for shift operations and keep track as per legal obligations. (1 per Shift)
? Needs to Manage First and Second-Class Boiler operators for Day-to-day Activities (1+2 per Shift)
? Responsible for Annual Inspection of Boilers as per legal Requirements and within Time.
? Inspect the quality of Man Power and Fabricators involved in Boiler maintenance in accordance to law.

? Hassle free plant operation.
? Increase MTBF and decrease MTTR.
? Safety Norms – No LTI
? Ensure 100% food safety
? Decrease repair cost.
? Decrease inventory and its cost
? Timely annual inspection of Boilers from IBR Authorities / Boiler Inspector.
Major Opportunities and Decisions (Describe the more difficult and/or complex challenges or opportunities and
decisions faced in doing work, improving processes or meeting customer needs. Where must position focus to be
successful?):
? Can move to Legal department as by virtue of Certification course makes him aware about legal sanctions in
Boiler operations and PCB due to emissions.
? By Virtue of Position, he is the actual owner of Boiler (Indian IBR law), the decisions taken by him are sanction
related.
? In case of any incident in Boiler he is the first person by IBR to be summoned upon Factory Inspector will call
for Factory manager but in case of Boiler incident He will have to accompany.
Management/Leadership (Describe the level of management and leadership skills required for the role. Identify key
specialties, technical and knowledge areas necessary to accomplish responsibilities and desired results):
? Must be Graduate Engineer (preferrable Mechanical)
? Must Have completed BOE certification Course (Certificate rewarded)
? Need to work in close relationship with Shift BOE and Operators (Legal requirements), to have clear
knowledge about operations and sanctions.
? Needs to Lead the Fabrication done as per legal drawings and authenticate in communication with
Management and Inspector (area in-charge by Chief Inspector of Boiler – State wise)
? Needs to Validate the Bill of material utilized as per legal Sanctions.
