Job Description:

Role Purpose Statement (Write a brief statement regarding the objective of the position and why it exists):
B2B Ingredient portfolio is one of the strategic focus portfolio’s and a key growth driver for B2B business in India. To
make co. a leading player in this segment it is important to have world class innovation and constant
improvements in products on a regular basis. This role is part of the wet category consisting of Whipp Topping, Glazes,
Cake Gels, Compound Chocolate etc. to develop best in class - new products and renovate existing products time to
time for improved quality, cost, delivery and compete with legendary competitors having large experience in these
segments.
Main Accountability (List 6-8 major areas of responsibilities in order of importance, and purpose of these activities:
 Safety in Ingredient R&D function

 Ensure safety and quality of co. products and in compliance to all food laws.
 Develop new products and optimize existing products on quality, application, cost and delivery
 Carry out competition bench marking time to time and come up with continuous improvement opportunities
 Liaise with Application, Operations etc. on new product development & delivery, cost reduction, operations
etc.
 Actively pursue development of vendors for raw materials, packaging materials etc. for improved delivery &
cost reduction
 Provide technical service in terms of training to employees, vendor development etc.
 Provide application support for specialty fats innovation on whipp topping, chocolate, confection & filling fat
solutions

B2B Ingredient portfolio is one of the strategic focus portfolio’s and a key growth driver for B2B business in India.
Currently growing at 25% YoY, business desires to expand rapidly to benchmark product portfolio, quality, cost,
volumes & delivery in line with top players like Riches, Tropilite, Pristine, Shine Road etc.
In order to support this fast growth from innovation side and also to provide application support to Oils & fats team on
Oils & fats solutions for whipp topping & other application, it is necessary to add up resources and this position is
essential. Over the next 5 years, business intends to be one of the top players with more than 25% market share in
these portfolios and looking for a range of variants / line extension.

Number of new products introduced, customer additions, cost reduction etc.

Desired Profile / Criteria / Skills :

Application & Tech Service, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Customers etc.
Knowledge and Technical Competencies (Identify knowledge and specific technical competencies to accomplish the
desired end results. Some examples are licenses & certifications and knowledge and abilities):
Basic knowledge of Food Chemistry, Formulations, Processing & Emulsion Technology and Product application (Whip
Toppings, Glazes & Decorations, Culinary, Confectionery etc.)
Working knowledge of various macro & micro food ingredients & additives, their role in various food applications,
physical and chemical interactions and their safe dosages.
Ability to carry out product, process and packaging development with cost optimization by understanding synergies
that exist in various food products & industries
Hands on experience in operating pilot plants & commercial scale operations in whipp topping, glazes, gels, choco & amp;
confectionery etc.
Good analytical testing skills.
Working knowledge of Indian Food Laws such as FSSAI, FPO and standards such as Codex
Basic knowledge of food safety, microbiology & process control aspects
Basic knowledge on functional and protective packaging

Education/Experience (Identify types and length of education and experience needed to acquire the necessary skills

experience):
Minimum first-class graduate in Food Technology (or) Dairy Technology (or) Chemical Engineering
Above 4 years in R&D of Whipp Topping, Glazes, Emulsions etc. from reputed Food Industries.
