GALVANIZING SKIMMER OPERATOR - TILDA

Job Description:

Role Overview:

1. A galvanizing skimmer operator works in the steel coating industry, specifically in hot-dip galvanizing plants.
2. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the galvanizing process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Material Handling:

1. Assist crane operators in hooking and unhooking material as required.
2. Locate raw material to be processed and load it onto the production line.
3. Unload material after the galvanizing process.
4. Remove miscellaneous debris from the material before and after processing.
5. Band and secure material as needed.
6. Locate the area for finished products.

1. Process Monitoring:
1. Monitor the galvanizing process to ensure proper coating of steel products.
2. Skim impurities (such as dross) from the surface of the molten zinc bath.
3. Maintain the quality of the galvanized coating.
2. Safety and Maintenance:

1. Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents.
2. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery.
3. Report any malfunctions or issues promptly.

1. Teamwork and Communication:

1. Collaborate with other operators, technicians, and supervisors.
2. Communicate effectively to ensure smooth operations.
