Job Description:
A transport executive is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing an organization's transportation and logistics activities. Some of their responsibilities include:
- Planning: Coordinating with the transportation team, reviewing customer requirements, and scheduling vehicle maintenance appointments
- Organizing: Organizing training sessions for employees, and keeping schedules and organizing team members
- Managing: Managing services covering all transport services to the client, with a focus on continuous improvement
- Maintaining: Ensuring that vehicles are properly maintained, and arranging repairs and routine maintenance
- Ensuring: Ensuring that shipments are handled efficiently, safely, and within budget, and that legal requirements for road haulage are met
- Monitoring: Monitoring transportation costs, and tracking orders
- Developing: Developing and implementing new and improved transportation procedures
