Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring and Analysis:
- Monitor network performance and analyze network traffic patterns to detect and resolve issues proactively.
- Utilize network monitoring tools to identify abnormalities, anomalies, or potential security threats.
- Conduct regular health checks on network devices, servers, and applications to ensure optimal performance.
Incident Management:
- Respond to network incidents, alerts, and outages promptly, following established procedures and protocols.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, escalating to appropriate teams when necessary.
- Document incident details, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions for future reference and continuous improvement.
Configuration and Maintenance:
- Configure, deploy, and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including software upgrades, patch management, and hardware replacements.
- Implement and enforce network security policies, access controls, and compliance standards.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and security analysts, to address complex network issues.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors to coordinate troubleshooting efforts and resolve network incidents.
- Provide timely updates and status reports on network performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
Continuous Improvement (Recommendations):
- Identify opportunities to enhance network infrastructure efficiency, scalability, and resilience.
- Recommend and implement process improvements, automation tools, and best practices to streamline network operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Network Engineeror similar role.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).
- Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds, Wireshark, and others).
- Excellent understanding of network security principles and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.
- Experience in handling multiple tasks
