Purchase Manager for Chemical Industry in Vapi (Gujarat) Location.

Job Description:

Engineering Purchase
a) Develop and Maintain vendor list. Coordinate with factory and ensure timely
delivery of materials.
b) Order material and follow up with vendors in case of delayed delivery or any
other unforeseen event. Investigate current vendors & find new suppliers to
further strengthen company’s purchasing department.
c) Relentless effort to reduce raw material costs by finding alternate suppliers.
d) Devise an excellent strategic action plan for penalizing incompetent
suppliers.
e) Strong knowledge of import documentation.
Capital Purchase
f) Seek out vendors for capital equipment’s.
g) Meet vendors or inviting them for meeting.
h) Shortlist the vendors based on technical capabilities.
i) Negotiate with vendors for capital purchase.
j) Recommend the bidder with best commercial bids.
k) Check the PO/WO for capital purchase.
l) Passing of bills and ensuring timely payment to vendor/service providers.
Skill Required
a) Very tough Negotiator.
b) Ability to work under pressure.
c) Excellent oral and written communication skills.
d) Well conversant with Import Export regulations.
e) Presentable, smart and quick to respond.
f) A good commercial acumen and ability to deal with senior people in
industry.
g) Besides the above, the candidate must be able to work independently,
should be hard working and must have good acumen of inventory control
for engineering items.
