Operator (Lathe Machine- Manual)

Job Description:

ITI TURNER With 5-7 year experience

Experience in LatheMachine-Manual (Table Type with 5 to 40MT

Required Skills

• Sets up and operates Horizontal Lathe Machine.
• Studies machining instructions such as job card, process sheet, marking and drawing on work piece.
• Determine machining required, sequence of operation, tooling, feed, and speed rate, applying knowledge of materials and machining.
• Loading and setting of job according to machine capacity with using of Rotary table, clamps, shims, and parallel blocks and verifies position with such instruments as dial indicators, gauge blocks, and height gauges.
• Analyzing specifications and deciding on tooling according to knowledge of shop mathematics, metal properties, and machining procedures.
• Moves controls to set feeds, speeds, and depth of cut, and to position tool and work piece in relation to each other, verifying position visually.
• Perform turning, boring, threading, grinding operations, such as metal work pieces (Fabricated/Casting/Forging).
• Uses of measuring instruments steel rule, measuring tap, caliper, vernier caliper, micro meter, dial indicator, gauges etc.
• Maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Keeping records.

  • Responsible for maintaining proper health condition of machine.
  • To ensure proper personal safety of self and workers.
  • Proper uses of Personal Protective Equipment.
  Implementation of TPM and 5S of machines.
