Job Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Start the plant and operate the machinery on a production day
- Communicate with other sections of the plant as and when necessary
- Stop the plant /machinery during emergencies, breakdown, and shutdowns and communicate with other sections as and when necessary, communicate with DOC and Prep supervisors/operator.
- Check adequacy of water, hexane, miscella, mineral oil, steam pressure, cake levels
- Arrange the supply of water for use and mineral oil as and when necessary
- Monitor vessel levels, condenser capability, vent gases/hexane and water levels to ensure continuity in processing and take corrective action when there are out of spec parameters
- Keep track of time for sampling, quality of products by means of liaising with laboratory personnel.
- Carries out hazard inspection on an ongoing basis and record any hazard identified and take corrective measures
- Never leave the plant running unattended by a qualified person, at all times there should be an authorized person monitoring the plant.
- Ensure good housekeeping is practiced and maintained all the times
- Make sure no entry of unauthorized personnel, cell phones, matches and any use of unsanctioned metal tools.
- Write a production report on a daily basis, monthly and ad-hoc
- Carry out food safety hazard inspection on an ongoing basis and record any hazard identified and take corrective measures
- Monitor CCP and record hourly DT discharge temperatures, maintain urease level at less than 0.3 delta pH.
- Identify areas that require maintenance, conduct dry run to ensure plant is running well before production.
- Work in liaison with the maintenance team following up and testing serviced equipment before production run.
