Job Description:

Job Description: Mechanical Engineer (Minimum 5 Years Experience)

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience to join our team. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, testing, and implementing mechanical systems and components to support various projects and product development initiatives. This role requires a strong technical background in mechanical engineering principles, proficiency in CAD software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Mechanical Design and Analysis:

    • Design and develop mechanical components, systems, and assemblies using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to meet project requirements and performance specifications.
    • Conduct engineering calculations, simulations, and finite element analysis (FEA) to optimize designs for strength, reliability, and manufacturability.
    • Evaluate and select materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical components based on cost, performance, and sustainability considerations.
  2. Product Development and Prototyping:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, industrial designers, and manufacturing engineers, to translate product requirements into detailed mechanical designs.
    • Generate 3D models, technical drawings, and bill of materials (BOM) for prototyping and manufacturing purposes, ensuring alignment with design intent and regulatory standards.
    • Prototype mechanical systems and assemblies using rapid prototyping techniques, CNC machining, or 3D printing, and conduct performance testing to validate design concepts.
  3. Testing and Validation:

    • Plan, coordinate, and execute mechanical testing and validation activities, including functional testing, stress testing, and environmental testing, to verify design performance and reliability.
    • Analyze test data, identify root causes of failures or deviations, and propose design modifications or improvements to enhance product robustness and durability.
    • Document test procedures, results, and findings in technical reports or engineering change orders (ECOs) to support product documentation and regulatory compliance.
  4. Manufacturing Support and Process Improvement:

    • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and suppliers to optimize production processes, reduce manufacturing costs, and improve product quality and yield.
    • Participate in design for manufacturing (DFM) reviews and design reviews to identify opportunities for design simplification, standardization, and cost reduction.
    • Provide technical support to resolve manufacturing issues, troubleshoot mechanical problems, and implement corrective actions or design modifications as needed.
  5. Project Management and Collaboration:

    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet project milestones and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including team members, managers, and customers, to ensure alignment of project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
    • Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and partners to source components, negotiate contracts, and coordinate project activities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering roles, preferably in product development, manufacturing, or engineering consulting.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA, with experience in 3D modeling, drafting, and assembly design.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
  • Experience with engineering analysis tools such as finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), or multibody dynamics simulation software is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Microsoft Project) is desirable.
