Job Description:

Position Overview: As a Technical Advisor in a body shop car showroom, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery to customers who require body repair or maintenance services for their vehicles. You will be responsible for assessing vehicle damage, providing accurate estimates, coordinating repair schedules, and ensuring that repairs are completed to meet industry standards and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Interaction:

    • Greet customers and assess their vehicle repair needs.
    • Explain repair procedures, timelines, and costs clearly and professionally.
    • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.
  2. Damage Assessment and Estimation:

    • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify and document all damages.
    • Utilize industry-standard estimation tools and techniques to provide accurate cost estimates for repairs.
    • Communicate repair estimates to customers and obtain necessary approvals before proceeding with repairs.
  3. Repair Coordination:

    • Schedule repair appointments and coordinate with the body shop team to ensure timely completion of repairs.
    • Monitor repair progress and communicate updates to customers as needed.
    • Coordinate with parts suppliers to ensure availability of necessary components for repairs.
  4. Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure that repairs are conducted according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
    • Perform quality checks on completed repairs to ensure workmanship and safety.
    • Address any issues or concerns raised by customers regarding the quality of repairs and take appropriate corrective actions.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of all repair orders, estimates, and customer interactions.
    • Prepare reports on repair activities, including completed repairs, work in progress, and any outstanding issues.
    • Provide regular updates to management on repair performance, customer satisfaction, and areas for improvement.
  6. Compliance and Safety:

    • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to automotive repair and maintenance.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards at all times.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in automotive repair or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience working in a body shop environment, with a strong understanding of automotive repair processes and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using computerized estimating systems and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and customer needs.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
