Roles and Responsibilities

Process engineering team responsibilities:

• Preparation of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) through Technology transfer document & scale-up the same from bench scale to commercial scale.
• Preparation of P & IDs for the process equipment which are related for scale-up activities like Reactor, Filters, storage tasks etc. and for projects undertaken.
• Follow the technical forms effectively and the data gathering and analysis.
• To ensure that the philosophy (operation, EHS, Quality) is adhered to during the technology absorption and dissemination on shop-floor.
• Ensure that the process documents are prepared in line with the operations philosophy.
• Ensure that the process is demonstrated based on the predefined acceptance criteria (CCs, recoveries, environmental factors, energy, automation etc.)
• Train the shop-floor team effectively for the team to be able to handle the process independently for regular production.
• To attend to the request of production team on any difficulties they face during the course of regular production by being single point contact for a particular product line.
• Making detailed mass and heat balance calculations.
• Estimation of solvent losses and there remediation.
• Hazop Study, Risk assessment plant safety inspection and Pre start up safety review.
• Utility requirement calculation like Steam, RT, chilled water, Brine, methanol brine for product manufacturing.
• Preparation of process cycle times and process equipment sizing.
• Planning and coordinating the modification activities withal related Departments or External agencies, as required.

• Monitoring the entire Process and coordinating with other departments Like Production, Maintenance and R&D Departments for New Products.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, drive the root cause and look for opportunities to fill the critical gaps in the manufacturing processes.
