Job Description:

Qualification:  BE Chemical /B.Sc./M. Sc. Chemistry/Environment/ADIS from recognized university.

Experience: Min 5 Yrs and above in a LSI/MSI of Fine Chemicals, Specialty Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, API, Bulk Drugs, Dyes & Pigments, Chemicals Company.
Language: Very good command on English, Hindi & Marathi.

Expertise:  SAP, ETP knowledge & study, HAZOP, ISO 2001:2008, 14001, OSHAS 18001, Safety Audits, OSEP, Conducting Mock Drills, Safety training, Process Safety  etc.

Skills: Technical & Management Skills, Computer proficiency, leadership qualities and handling people.

Job Description:

Environment:

  • Ensuring that COD levels of plant effluent discharged comply with the requirements by the efficient operation of the ETP.
  • Ensuring that SOPs are established for ETP operation.
  • Monitoring the consumption of chemicals and water in the ETP.
  • Submission of monthly ETP report to the Management.
  • Submission of annual returns to environmental regulatory agencies.
  • Initiating measures for reduction of COD levels.
  • Initiating measures for COD reduction.
  • Ensuring the disposal of hazardous waste within the stipulated period.

 

Health:

  • Implementing measures for monitoring and maintaining good employee health including periodic health check- ups.
  • Ensuring that annual health check- ups are held for employees.
  • Ensuring the availability of first aid boxes at key places.
  • Ensuring that medical emergencies are promptly attended.

Safety:

Monitoring compliance with safety precautions throughout the Plants.

  • Ensuring the provision of PPE.
  • Ensuring that maintenance and unloading activities are carried out in safe manner
  • Ensuring that maintenance activities are carried out with adherence to safety.
  • Maintaining the fire fighting equipment in proper working condition.
  • Increasing the awareness of safe work practices through periodic safety committee meetings, training and mock drills.
  • Investigation and reporting of accidents.
  • Monitoring the housekeeping in the Plants
  • Ensuring compliance with safety precautions throughout the Plant
  • Ensuring conduct of periodic safety audits.
  • Ensuring that the recommendations of audits are implemented.
  • Increasing the awareness of safe work practices through periodic safety committee meetings, training and mock drills
  • Ensuring the conduct of safety committee meetings periodically
  • Conduct of mock drills periodically
  • Ensuring the investigation and reporting of accidents
  • Ensuring accidents are reported within prescribed time
  • Ensure that detailed investigation of accidents is completed.
  • Carrying out investigation
  • Proposing corrective action.
  • Ensuring the implementation of actions

ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001

  • Ensuring the implementation of the management systems conforming 14001 and OHSAS 18001
  • Ensuring that Aspect Impact study and HIRA are done for new/ changed processes/ conditions
  • Ensuring the implementation of controls
  • Updation of Onsite Emergency Plan
  • Ensuring that objectives are set by all departments and monitoring their achievement
  • Preparation and circulation of monthly review reports to the departments

Salary/Probation:
Probation Period:  6 Months and increment on confirmation.
