Job Description:

JOB TITLE:        Sales Engineer/ Sr. Sales Engineer

RESPONSIBLE TO:       Area Manager > Regional Business Manager > National Sales Manager              

RESPONSIBLE FOR:    Sales Development in Aurangabad, Nashik & Nagpur

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  •  To work effectively in accordance with the Company guidelines and procedures.
  •  Maximise the sales potential of the branch through a total commitment to customer service and care.
  •  Agree annual sales objectives and targets with the Sales Manager and monitor your performance in relation to them on a month-to-month basis, taking action as required to ensure that you sales target is achieved.
  •  Ensure adequate planning and time management is in place to keep you in front of customers developing relationships and generating sales most of the time. A minimum of 1 - 2 large size customer calls plus 5 – 6 medium size customer calls must be achieved every day.
  •  Operate an effective call plan and accurately record all the necessary information / follow up on the customer’s record cards and in your Company diary.
  •  Submit a weekly report of all the customer calls you have made with any relevant follow up action points to the Reporting Manager. This should include details of the calls you intend to make in the following week. Monthly reports need to be submitted in the required formats. Timely reporting is an essential part of Job Responsibility and will be given due importance for Performance review.
  •  Develop business with existing customers, but continuously seek new customers / opportunities that will add quality business to our operation.
  •  Follow up on quotes done by you or on your behalf by the Internal Sales team.
  •  Try to convert as much business as possible to own or exclusive brand products, and to support these brands when questioned about the quality ensuring the tools have been used for the correct application.
  •  Pro-actively sell products that are on monthly and quarterly promotions.
  •  Assist the Internal Sales team in quoting all enquiries within as short a time as possible, giving the customer regular progress reports as required if the enquiry cannot be answered within 24 hours.
  •  Assist the Sales Manager with market research on the actions / price structure of our competitors so that he can help you pro-actively develop sales and marketing strategy’s to generate new business.
  •  Make the Sales Manager aware of any possible extensions to the Company’s present offering of products and services that will help you increase sales.
  •  Ensure that all customers are aware of and comply with the Company’s trading terms and conditions, and collect all money due to the Company on time.
  •  Report to a member of the management team any risk or hazard that may contravene the Health and Safety at Work Act legislation.
  •  Comply with all parts of the Company’s Employee Information Handbook, which is available from local management or via the company’s intranet.
  •  Strictly adhere to the Groups guidelines on personal and cash sales.
  •  Strictly adhere to the Company Vehicle Policy and other policy’s which may be issued from time to time.
  •  Keep the branch and especially your work area clean, tidy and safe.
  •  Carry out any reasonable management request.
