At Augrade, our mission is to make AR/VR more accessible & adaptable to how we live, work & play.
We’re a wearable tech startup working on AR glasses for B2B industry starting with a niche focus on Architects & interior designers. We enable them to ideate, design & present their designs in 3D using generative AI & AR technologies.

About the role:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated software engineer who is keen to work in AR, to work directly on all our OS & software efforts. The candidate will be working on AOSP, AR applications, 3D interfacings etc. You will be a part of the core software team & working closely with other teams & the founders.
As we are a start-up, there is plenty of room for progression and making the role your own. Occasionally, and in line with your strengths and interests, you may have to work outside your job description.

Key Qualifications:
• 4 or more years of experience in software development, AOSP, Android OS is a plus.
• Strong command of C++ development, and integrating with a user-space process that controls the firmware
• User-interface programming experience
• Experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Go, C/C++, Java or Python.
• Industry exposure to and knowledge of OS security, applied cryptography, and key management.
• Ability to dive into and understand unfamiliar codebases and systems.
• Excellent collaboration skills. We work with teams responsible for many layers of our products, and our services are a core part of the technology stack.
• Experience with the AOSP code base in either a community or business setting

Responsibilities:
• Modify and extend AOSP for new use cases and hardware for Mixed Reality.
• Work on application framework functionality such as SystemUI, window management, notification management, input methods, etc.
• Implementation of custom services, applications, and device management features.
• Work on existing and new UI functionality and APIs, such as UI components, animations, text, layouts, etc.
• Designing, developing, coding, testing, and debugging system software.

• Supporting software QA and optimizing I/O performance.
• Interfacing with hardware design and development.
• Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems
