At Augrade, our mission is to make AR/VR more accessible & adaptable to how we live, work & play. We’re a wearable tech startup working on AR glasses for Architectural firms, to help them think, work & present their work in 3D.

About the role:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Hardware engineer who is keen to work in AR, to work directly on & lead all our hardware efforts. The candidate will be working on designing PCBs, waveguide display interfacing, incorporating sensors, etc. You will be leading the full hardware team & working closely with other teams & the founders.

As we are a start-up, there is plenty of room for progression and making the role your own. Occasionally, and in line with your strengths and interests, you may have to work outside your job description.

Key Qualifications:
• 6+ years of people leadership in hardware and SoC Design experience required.
• The ideal candidate will have a unique blend of technical expertise, program management skills, and a business mindset along with strong team leadership skills.
• Experience in Supply Chain with proven managerial and leadership skills in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working with high-speed boards, Processors, LPDDRs,EMMC and PMICs.
• Must have experience in the battery-operated projects or modules.
• Created any project from scratch based on High-speed design,
• PCB designing, Layout planning & testing.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems & functioning for RFs,
• Thorough understanding of SoC display sub-system architecture, interface, performance and energy tradeoffs
• Use schematic and layout tools such as Cadence Concept & Allegro; develop new and novel methods of pre-route guidance

• Assess hi-speed interface needs
• Work with x-functional engineering managers and architects on HW/SW enabling technologies
• Demonstrated ability to succeed in an environment of high ambiguity - including a matrixed team management structure
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex solutions on time, on budget, with a high level of quality

Responsibilities:
1. Develop initial product layouts. Generate concepts, prototype, demonstrate & test to drive down-selection.
2. Research and Development in the field of core electronic circuit designs with strong basics (Analog, Digital, High-Speed Designs, RF).
3. Understanding all the stages of the Product Development Life Cycle and have worked very closely in all the stages including production and troubleshooting.
4. Designing detailed system schematics and PCB Layouts (multiple layers) adhering to IPC standards, solid knowledge of Layer Stack Manager and Impedance Matching and PCB guidelines, and material selection.

5. Strong fundamentals of electronics circuit designing, simulations and networking theory, including transistors, FETs, Opamps, MCU, Power Supply Distribution chain etc.
6. Ability to architect, code, and integrate firmware for any of our hardware products.
7. Hands-on familiarity with Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzers & such equipment for completing functionality and performance tests on the final product.
8. Be able to drive features and initiatives within our engineering team, and with many other teams we work with in the broader engineering organization at Augrade. Coordinate with Cross-functional teams and be able to successfully manage these features through to launch.

9. Preferred experience working with micro-Processors architecture using BGA connections along with detailed peripheral/interface knowledge.
10. Overseeing the manufacturing process of our hardware.
11. Collaborate with industrial designers, product integrity, hardware, software, and technology groups to refine & execute on the design of the product.
12. Develop the firmware for the product and test as needed.
