Sr. Accountant
Job Description:
As a senior accountant, you will analyze complex financial records and reports. You oversee a company's accounting operations. Senior accountants regulate and authenticate financial transactions. You maintain a ledger to ensure effectiveness and accuracy of all accounting tasks. It is your job to balance accounts and confirm and verify bank statements on behalf of the company. You will need experience using electronic ledger systems. Most senior accountants run their own financial department within a business.
Most medium-to-large sized companies have accounting departments. As a senior accountant, you will likely oversee a team of junior accountants. You should have sound analytical skills and advanced skills using Microsoft Excel. Additionally, you will need a thorough knowledge of accounting procedures, including preparing month-end reports and financial forecasts. You need a bachelor's degree in accounting, but typically a master's degree or extensive experience in the financial field is preferred for a senior accountant position.
