Job Title: Finance Head (Finance Manager)

Company Profile: A very old and established battery manufacturing company.

Job Responsibilities:

General Description:

Finance Manager will be responsible for establishing under finance, accounts and billing, Innovative Software i.e. SAP, Oracle and etc should be established as per company’s requirement. There are several sister concerns the company running thus, overlooking their operations and understanding their history would be essential. Developing a strong team down the line will be also his job responsibility.

Finance and Funds Management

1. Management of the finance function and overseeing the finance team. Ensure Cash requirements at HO and plant are fulfilled.
2. Cash flows and Fund flow preparation to ensure sound liquidity in the company.
3. Ensure receivables from various Regional Depots to ensure liquidity.
4. Debtors and Creditors management of the company. Assist in improvising Debtors Turnover Ratio and hence monitoring the credit policy of the company.
5. Compute Working Capital and Term loan requirements of the company on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
6. Maintain Banking Relations.
7. Assist the management in investing funds in shares, bonds, Debentures, Mutual Funds and other financial instruments.
8. Arrange for required funds in terms of debt from Banks.
9. Use hedging to mitigate financial risks related to the interest rates on the company's borrowings, as well as on its foreign exchange positions.

Financial Analysis

1. Stock Check and Audits to be conducted, internal and external from time-time, in coordination with Cost Accountant.
2. Internal and External Auditors to be sourced and auditing to be conducted on various processes on timely basis.
3. Annual Audited Balance sheet Preparation in coordination with CA, CS and various other consultants would be crucial.
4. Project Evaluation for any new projects being taken up by the company – Preparation of vital documents has to be ensured along with filing.
5. Preparation of Monthly, Quarterly Consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet.
6. Quarterly Profitability and Ratio Analysis(GP, OP, NP) is extremely crucial to Interpret company's financial results to management and recommend improvement activities.
7. Review the performance of competitors and report on key issues to management to Engage in benchmarking studies to establish areas of potential operational improvement
8. Costing of the products has to monitored in coordination with the cost Accountant and Assist in the determination of product pricing in relation to features offered and competitor pricing
9. Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company
10. Participate in target costing activities to create products that meeting predetermined price goals
11. Act as authorized signatory for and authorise expenditure up to limits as agreed by the management.
12. In regards to above, micro management of expenses, cash inflow and cash outflow has to be reviewed regularly.

Budgeting

1. Manage the preparation of the company's budget on annual basis.
2. Allocate budgets and funds to various departments and review on monthly and quarterly basis, the adherence to the budget.
3. Report to management on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances.
4. Assist management in the formulation of its overall strategic direction for Budgets, Profitability and Sales on annual basis.

Accounting

1. Maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes
2. Ensuring that appropriate systems, financial regulations and internal controls are implemented and maintained
3. Improvising existing Accounting standards through better software and implementation of policies to enhance the productivity.
4. Overseeing the Payroll process
5. Ensuring all and Financial Returns are filed in terms of VAT, Excise, Sales Tax, OTC, Income Tax or any other legal and financial return whatsoever. C-form and F-form would also form a part of the same.

Management

1. Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
2. Manage outsourced functions
3. Make regular reports to the management on income, expenditure, profitability and any variations from budgets.
4. Producing accurate financial reports to specific deadlines
5. Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
6. Timely production of statutory and internal financial reports
7. Maintaining Confidentiality on all policy matters of the company.

Legal and Insurance

1. Insurance – Ensure all Insurance policies are filed and renewed from time-time, in coordination with HR.
2. Ensure All Insurance Claim settlements are cleared in coordination with company and the surveyor.
3. Legal documents, agreements and MOU’s to be drafted, reviewed, filed and renewed from time-time.

Other Responsibilities

1. Financial modelling and analysis
2. Cash management and treasury duties
3. Overseeing all policies of the company
4. Long term Business plans to be submitted to the management, related to Finance to endure smooth functioning.
5. Oversee the extension of credit to customers
6. Undertake such other duties and tasks as may lie within the scope of this post to ensure the effective delivery and development of the service.
