Job Description:

-Position Title: Manager- Engineering

-Reports to: General Manager -Operations

-Department: Engineering

-QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

1.Minimum Qualification: equipmentsDegree in mechanical or electrical engineering.

2.Minimum Experience: Minimum 15 years experience in Pharma Formulation Industry.

-JOB PURPOSE: Engineering activities related to manufacturing equipment.

-KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES:

-Functional Responsibilities:

1.Preventive/breakdown maintenance of manufacturing equipment used for tablets, capsules, and ointments. Exposure to FBD, fully automatic capsule filling machines, flat bed Blister packing machines, carbonators and high-speed tube filling machines required.

2.The operation, maintenance of key utilities including water-cooled screw chillers, air handling units, water treatment plant, briquette fired the boiler, air compressors, In-house transformers.

3.Ensure maximum availability of production, utility equipment by maintaining high MTBF and lessIn-house

3. plant, equipment modifications and up gradation in order to enhance productivity.

4.Energy saving initiatives related to power and fuel.

5.Preparation of Capex, Opex budgets and ensure adherence to it.

6.Maintain spares inventory, coordination with purchase for spares procurement.

7.Development of local vendors for non critical spares and contractual work.

-EHS Responsibilities:

 

1.Operation, maintenance of fire detection system and effluent treatment plant.

2.Ensure compliance to environmental norms of MPCB.

3.Compliance with safety related observations in coordination with EHS department.

4.Identification of safety related risks and mitigation of identified risks

- GMP & Compliance Responsibilities:

1.Preparation on, animplementation  of Standard operating procedures by involving all individuals and in engineering function. 

2.Training for standard operating procedures.

3.Scheduled HVAC validation and qualification of new equipments in consultation with Quality Assurance department.

4.Ensure compliance to various regulatory audit observations related to engineering function.

-Project management:

1.Preparation of URS for new equipment in consultation with production and QA.

2.Preparation of techno-commercial comparative statement and submission of the proposal for procurement of new equipment.

3.Set up utilities before receipt of new equipment.

4.Installation, commissioning and validation of new machines.

5.Training to engineering and operating personnel for new equipment.

- COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

1.To communicate effectively and guide team of engineers and technicians.

2.To liaise with production and QA for various activities related to maintenance and upgradations.  

Job Specific Skills:

O Strong analytical skill and capability to do in house modifications.

O Leadership quality to perform team based activities.
